Encountering problems after a memory upgrade? Well, have you adjusted the memory allocation for the hibernation function. This figure is automatically set and managed by windows but right after a memory upgrade, you may have to manually set this to take into account the increased size of your memory which allows you to run more programs. The old setting may be set to the previous memory configuration hence there may not be enough hard disk space allocated to save your memory’s contents right after the upgrade.
Step 1: Go to the Start menu and go to the Control Panel then into the System Menu.
Step 2: Once there you then go to the Advanced Menu where you can enter the configuration panel.
Step 3: You select Advanced menu where you will see the Virtual Memory tab which reflects the amount of page file is used by the system meaning the amount of hard drive space reserved to store your memory’s contents when your computer goes into hibernation.
Step 4: If the figure is lower than your total memory installed (due to the upgrade), you can then change it to the level specified or recommended by Windows for the best results.
Step 5: You apply all changes allowing windows to recognize and allocate more space for your hibernation file that should solve the errors you may be getting. You may have to restart your computer for the changes to take effect so save all your work and do so.
That should eliminate your memory problems which may not speed up your computer but it would greatly influence the amount of programs you can run lessening programs from slowing down.
